MP Saud to be summoned on suspicion of tampering with evidence
Saud is facing corruption allegations dating back to his tenure as chair of the Villingili Council
The police summoned issued to him says that some of the documents relevant to the investigation are missing
Saud is already under investigation for his alleged part in a conspiracy to murder High Court Judge Usman Ali

MP Saud Hussein has been summoned to the police after the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) failed to acquire documents relevant to its case against him.

Saud, who represents the Villingili constituency in parliament, is facing corruption allegations dating back to his tenure as chair of the Villingili Council. While he maintains that he is not guilty of the allegations, he was summoned for a second ACC hearing on 2nd July.

The police summoned issued to him says that some of the documents that ACC officials had been looking for in relation to the investigation are missing. The summon further says that the police are looking to acquire his statement on the matter and that he is under suspicion of tampering with evidence.

“Politically Motivated Charges Season 2, Episode 4” Saud tweeted in jest in a post he sent out in Dhivehi with the police summon attached.

In the tweet MP Saud had also guaranteed that his resolve was unwavering, adding that ‘by the grace of god, (he) will be stronger with (his) confidence’.

Saud is already under investigation for his alleged part in a conspiracy to murder High Court Judge Usman Ali.
