A local man has been arrested for physically assaulting his lover.
Arrested under accusations of physically assaulting his lover was a 22-year-old Maldivian man.
The suspect was presented to the Criminal Court for his remand hearing on Thursday.
The Maldives Police Service had accused the man of assault, against his girlfriend.
The local man has since been given a remand period of 15 days, as presiding judge Ali Nadheem had cited that sufficient evidence has been submitted against him to prove the charges of physical assault.
