The Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Russian Federation has presented credentials.

Aishath Shaan Shakir who is also the Maldivian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany presented her Letter of Credence, as the Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Russian Federation on Wednesday.

The credentials ceremony was held at the Embassy of Russia in Berlin.

The Maldivian ambassador’s credentials were received by Ambassador of Russia to Germany Sergey Nechayev.

The Letter of Credence was addressed to President of Russia Vladimir Putin by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih under a special arrangement made by the government of Russia.

Following the credentials ceremony, Ambassador Shaan was welcomed to the country by Ambassador Nechayev who wished her success in the future endeavors in her ambassadorial tenure.

Expressing gratitude to Ambassador Nechayev, the Maldivian ambassador conveyed personal greetings and warm felicitations from President Solih to the people, government and president of Russia.

Ambassador Shaan went on to express her commitment to enhance the existing bilateral relations and close cooperation between the two countries.

Counsellor at the Embassy of Maldives in the Federal Republic of Germany Mohamed Fazeel Hussain accompanied Ambassador Shaan at the ceremony.
