Three individuals have been injured in a road accident that occurred late Sunday.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of the accident at around 11:33pm on Sunday.
The accident is to have occurred after a speeding motorcycle crashed into another motorcycle waiting in traffic at the Sinamalé Bridge light in Malé City.
The three individuals injured in the accident were a 47-year-old, a 43-year-old and a 31-year-old.
All injured in the crash are men, out of whom the 43-year-old is currently receiving treatment for injuries attained, at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The remaining two are receiving treatment at Senahiya Hospital, close to where the accident took place.
Further investigations are currently underway.
Of recent, there have been a rise in road accidents reported, especially in the bridge area.
