A man wanted to be presented before court, is being sought.
In a publication on Sunday, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they are locating a man required to be presented before the Criminal Court in connection with a case submitted at the court.
The court has ordered the police institution to locate the man, take him into police custody and present him to court.
Being sought is Ahmed Mohamed, 34 and native to Thimarafushi island of Thaa atoll.
Mohamed is being sought in connection with charges raised by the state for illegally entering an unauthorized property as well as attempting to influence another person’s property illegally.
The court order to locate the man was issued after efforts to present him before court, were to no avail.
Mohamed is to be taken into police custody and presented to the Criminal Court at 9:30am on Monday.
The public has been urged to contact the authority’s custodial department through 9991442 if any information on the suspect’s whereabouts is attained.
The police institution also took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the support and assistance extended in such cases.
