The Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that 1,431 patients have been treated at its cardiac unit.
The hospital’s director of public relations, Ahmed Mausoom, said that multiple patients are treated at the unit daily while it has also conducted 794 angiographs and 549 angioplasty procedures.
In his interview with RaajjeMV, Mausoom said that IGMH has observed an increase in the amount of national heart patients, especially among the youth.
IGMH’s cardiac unit – which is the National Cardia Centre – has cardiologists from India’s Meditrina Hospital.
Mausoom said that since its inception, treatment in local cardiology has boosted well beyond most medical institutions in the region can provide.
