Maldives Police Service (MPS) has conducted a special operation in Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll on Monday, arresting a 40-year-old.

Police media official said that the operation was conducted on Monday night, and that at around 12:37 am arrested a 40-year-old male with several cans of beer.

Police said that 15 cans of beer were confiscated in the operation.

The media official revealed that the individual has been given a 13-day remand by the Maafushi Magistrate Court.

Police is investigating the case.
