Minister of Gender and Family, Zenysha Shaheed Zaki has held a special movie screening for children living in Fiyavathi shelter in Hulhumalé on Sunday, to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr.

According to the Ministry, the Minister had organized a special screening of the movie 'Cars 3' for the children, between the ages of five and ten, at Schwack Cinema in the capital Malé on Sunday.

A total of 71 students took part in the event, and were accompanied by staff at the Ministry and Fiyavathi.

The Ministry said that the event was organized with the assistance of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), who arranged the transport.

In addition to the movie screening, Minister Zenysha had planned other events for the children living in Fiyavathi, including viewing the Hot Air Balloon Festival, as well as a special children's evening in Club Med Kanifinolhu Resort. The Minister also arranged separate activities for the children living at Kudakudhinge Hiyaa in Villimalé.

The Ministry currently provides shelter for a total of 166 children at Kudakudhinge Hiya, Amaam Hiya and Fiyavathi Shelter.
