President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has toured the dedicated artwork display space set up at the Noovilu seaplane terminal of the Velana International Airport (VIA).
President Solih toured the dedicated art display space at VIA Noovilu Seaplane Terminal on Monday.
Set up by the National Center for the Arts (NCA), the display wall allows local artists to display their artworks on year-round basis.
The artworks are hosted at the seaplane terminal under the administration’s initiative to provide emerging artists with platforms to showcase their work to both local and international audiences.
Currently, 20 artworks from the permanent collection of the National Art Gallery are on display at the terminal.
The platform also allows local musicians to showcase their talent at the airport, in addition to the art displays.
During the tour, President Solih also met and talked to the members of the art community and inquired about their work.
The platform will be open for artists during the peak season as well.
