ADK Hospital has said that the accident victim brought in from Hulhumalé last week, is still being treated in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.
ADK's Managing Director Ahmed Af'aal said that the 23-year-old woman, who had been a passenger on a motorcycle in Hulhumalé on March 8, is still being treated in the ICU, and that her condition is improving.
While she had been breathing with the help of a ventilator, he said that the ventilator has since been removed.
Af'aal said that they expected to move her from the ICU "in two days or so".
Doctors were forced to operate on her on Saturday, as she had suffered from a brain bleed.
While the motorcycle she was traveling in crashed near the Maldives Ports Limited outlet in Hulhumalé last Thursday, the rider had also sustained serious injuries in the accident. The rider had, reportedly, accelerated far beyond the speed limit.
