Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has issued summons on former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom regarding an audit report on the official Presidential Residence during the former President’s tenure.
ACC on Thursday sent a letter to the former President stating that he needed to give his statement regarding the audit reports of 2007 and 2008, for the official Presidential Residence of Theemuge. The letter adds the former President can give this statement at a convenient time and to inform the Commission of that time.
The Commission had launched investigation into the case 10 years later. His son, MP Faris Maumoon had also been investigated on the same matter. He had been summoned to ACC and Police; the case had been sent to PG for prosecution.
The Commission’s investigation came after the former President had revoked his support of the administration of his half-brother and President Abdullah Yameen.
