Two individuals have been arrested from Maafushi island in Kaafu atoll, with suspected narcotics and a large amount of cash.

Police media official said they were arrested under an operation conducted by Maafushi Police Station and Police Intelligence. The two 24-year old men were apprehended around 6pm on Tuesday.

Two large packets, four rubber packets and one additional bag, all filled with drugs, were found at the time of arrest. Additionally, MVR 25,000 was also discovered on them,

Police say the case is under investigation.
