Former President Mohamed Nasheed and his spouse Laila Ali has hosted an iftar for leadership of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
The iftar was held in Hotel Jen on Sunday.
Speaking to Raajje.mv, MDP Secretary General Anas Abdul Sattar said the iftar was especially given by the former First Couple to the members of MDP National Congress and staff at MDP Office. He added that the iftar was attended by many members of the leadership.
Nasheed had addressed the event via Skype, before breaking fast. In his address, Nasheed highlighted on the planned activities currently, as well as future plans that will strengthen the Party.
The former President had previously held a meeting with Maldivians living in Sri Lanka.
