59-year-old Abdulla Mohamed, who is in critical condition following an accident in Fuvahmulah City on Friday, has been transferred to the capital Malé City for treatment, informs his family.
His brother, Ali Didi told RaajjeMV that Abdulla was transferred to Malé on Saturday night, and that he is currently being treated at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
However, Ali Didi informed that they are working to transfer him to the privately owned ADK Hospital, since IGMH lacks a neurologist.
Abdulla was to be transferred to the capital city earlier on Saturday, but the transfer had to be cancelled as his condition declined, and was taken to southernmost Addu City's Regional Hospital instead, via ambulance service.
Abdulla's brother told RaajjeMV that he had sustained severe injuries to the cerebral veins, and that he is suffering a brain bleed.
All three individuals involved in the accident- two riders and one passenger- had sustained injuries, while Abdulla had sustained the severest injuries.
Police have said that one of the motorcycles, travelling at high speed, had crashed into the other. Officers are investigating the case.
