Former President Mohamed Nasheed has stated that Maldives Police Service (MPS) is deliberately overlooking who had ordered and financed the murder of blogger Yameen Rasheed.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, the former President urged the United Nations Human Rights Council must intervene in the matter.

So far seven had been arrested in connection to the murder. However, Police is yet to offer coherent information regarding his murder and the suspects.
Blogger and pro-democracy activist Yameen Rasheed was stabbed to death in a brutal attack in the early hours on April 23. Prior to his death, Yameen had reported the various death threats he had received to the police, who had failed to take any action in the matter.
Yameen was the chief editor of The Daily Panic, an investigative and sarcastic look into the weekly political and social issues in the country. He had been in the frontlines in the call for justice for Rilwan, and is one of the many activists to be targeted in the Maldives in the past five years.
