Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is to begin operating direct flights to the Maldives.

The airline is scheduled to begin operating flights from Abu Dhabi to Malé in October, with ticket sales already having begun.

Wizz Air is set to operate flights to the Maldives four days weekly, starting October 4. As such, flights will be operated on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The airline will be using their A321neo aircrafts for the route to Maldives, with a 239-passenger capacity.

Wizz Air began operating during January 2021 and currently operates flights to 32 destinations.

Alongside Maldives, the airline has also added Kuwait to its operational routes.

Wizz Air is preparing to launch flights to the Maldives from Abu Dhabi, during peak season. As such, Maldives sees an overwhelming number of tourist arrivals at the end of each year.

The country has so far welcomed more than 900,000 tourists, as of mid-year.
