Family and friends of murdered blogger and social media activist Yameen Rasheed has submitted 454 letters to Human Rights Commission of the Maldives, calling for in-depth, impartial investigation into his murder and to find the perpetrators of the crime.
A statement released by the family on Sunday said the letters were submitted on 11th June 2017.
The letters had called on HRCM to fulfill their legal mandate. Specifically, it had called on the Commission to review cases of intimidation and harassment more seriously and to investigate whether Police had been negligent in investigating the multiple reports Yameen had filed.

The statement also said they have been thrust into deep sadness and anguish following his murder. It further said they were anticipating justice would be done to the merciless act.
Previously, family and friends had submitted 800 letters to Police calling for an in-depth and impartial investigation. All 800 letters were rejected.
