Health Ministry reveals that the Demographic and Health Survey has been completed for seven atolls.
The Ministry said that survey was completed for Kaafu, Alif Dhaal, Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu, Dhaal and Thaa Atolls and Male’ area.
The survey collects information on health of women, men and children below the age of five. Children and women have been tested for anemia as part of the survey as well.
The findings of the national level survey will be used in determining health sector policies and will be shared with key stakeholders such as UN, private organizations and related Government agencies.
Health Ministry added that so far all participants had lent their full support and cooperation to the survey.
The rest of the atolls will be covered once the survey resumes on July 2nd and the entire survey will be concluded later this year.
