Maldives Police Service (MPS) has issued summons on Vilingili Constituency MP Saud Hussain to submit himself to the Service.
Speaking to Raajje.mv, Saud said summons were issued for 8.30pm on Thursday, regarding a matter under investigation.
The summons came after Saud joined the breakaway faction of the Progressive Party of the Maldives, headed by former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
Similar summons had been issued on figures of the main opposition, following their decision to introduce a no confidence motion on Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh. The opposition maintains that this was an attempt to intimidate the reform movement started by the opposition.
