Exiled former President Mohamed Nasheed has met with senior officials of the opposition coalition on Wednesday.
The meeting took place on Wednesday evening (local time) in Berlin, Germany.
An opposition delegation traveled to Germany this week, in order to meet senior officials of the government of Germany, and to inform them of the deteriorating situation in the Maldives.
The delegation includes; former President Mohamed Nasheed, Abdulla Shahid and Omar Abdul Razzaq from Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Aminath Nadhira from the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), Ameen Ibrahim and Asim Ahmed from Jumhooree Party (JP) and Adam Azim, brother of jailed former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim.
RaajjeMV understands that the delegation is to meet with officials from German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s office, as well as senior officials of the Foreign Ministry. The team will also meet with political parties and lawmakers, as well as non-governmental organizations from Germany.
