24 students from Ghiyaasuddin School in capital city Malé have on Wednesday departed to China in order to participate in the International Robotronics Competition (IRC) League.
The students were accompanied by three teachers, and are set to return on June 8th, the school’s management said.
In April, Ghiyaasuddin had won the local rounds for the league.
Last year, the school had acquired first place in the Maldivian qualifier rounds for junior, middle level, and senior categories.
The IRC’s Open League, held after all the qualifier rounds, will be held on the 1st of July.
The theme for this is year a concept of "Tomorrowland”, where students will compete in areas of technology, engineering, mathematics, and science.
