Ramadan 1438 started on May 27

President Abdulla Yameen has reminded the public that Ramadan brings the opportunity “to engage in our beliefs and spirituality”.

In his special message to mark the beginning of Ramadan 1438, President Yameen also appealed to the public “to make the best of the Holy month”.

Highlighting that “with the month of Ramadan comes also the opportunity to engage in beliefs and spirituality”, the President emphasized that “it is a true blessing to witness the Holy month”.

“Additionally, the President noted that the revelation of the Holy Quran took place during the month of Ramadan and thus it is essential to engage in good deeds, avoid missing prayers and bring a renewed passion to studying the Quran”, reads the President’s message.

In addition, President Yameen extended Ramadan greeting to the leaders of the Islamic countries, in the name of the government and the people of Maldives.

In his message, he expressed his wished for the Almighty “to grace the Muslim nation with generous blessings”, and that it brings the entire community together in prayer for peace, progress and prosperity.
