TMA aircraft crashes near Velana International Airport
All passengers have been brought to safety and there are yet no reports of serious injury

A seaplane operated by the Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has crashed into the water around Velana International Airport.

RaajjeMV understands that the aircraft crashed as the pilots lowered it for landing.

All nine passengers have been brought to safety and there are yet no reports of serious injury.

TMA has had two crashes before, when one of their aircrafts crashed near Lhaviyani atoll with 15 passengers onboard and near Biyadhoo Island Resort in 2011.
