The new High Commissioner of New Zealand to the Maldives, Michael Edward Appleton has held discussions regarding the Covid-19 economic recovery efforts in Maldives, with State Minister Ahmed Khaleel.
The New Zealand HC called on State Minister Khaleel on Monday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Discussions revolved around strengthening the existing bilateral relations between both countries in a wide range of areas of mutual significance including security cooperation, human resource development, the ongoing COP26 Summit and climate change.
Further, ways to strengthen cooperation at the multilateral domain were also discussed.
The pair also talked regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the economic recovery efforts that are underway in the Maldives.
The meeting was joined by Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed and Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim.
