The Malé Area Coast Guard has assisted the ‘Handy Hard 2’ that had collided with the recently constructed lighthouse to the South of the capital city. 

The incident was reported to the Maldives National Defence Force’s maritime rescue center on Thursday night. 

Officers had covered a dent caused in the vessel’s hull, and unflooded it at around 08:30 pm. 

However, the vessel had already managed to escape from being entrapped onto the edge of the lighthouse it had collided with at the time the officers unflooded it.
