President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s continued silence over the water service disruption affecting all of Fuvahmulah City reflects a lack of sincerity, according to Fuvahmulah South Councilor Ibrahim Mohamed.
In an exclusive interview with RaajjeTV on Wednesday, Councilor Ibrahim described the citywide water crisis as a serious issue that has caused significant hardship for residents.
He said the president’s failure to address such a widespread problem demonstrates a lack of genuine concern for the people affected.
The councilor further stressed that the city is not seeking a temporary fix but a lasting solution, reflecting the demands of the public. He affirmed that the council remains committed to working in line with the people’s wishes.
He further noted that while the government claims to be addressing the issue, the council has been largely sidelined in the process.
He said that this exclusion has created numerous challenges for residents. According to him, even the distribution of water to households is being carried out without the council’s involvement, and bypassing the council in such efforts will only create additional obstacles, as it serves as the governing authority for the entire city.
