A 77-year-old Maldivian woman has succumbed to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed on Wednesday morning, that the woman passed away while receiving treatment at the Hulhumalé Medical Facility, at 9:20am.

This is the 21st death to Covid-19 in the Maldives.

On Tuesday, Maldives reported the 20th death to the infection, when a 67-year-old admitted at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) passed away.

There are currently 148 patients receiving treatment for the infection, at the hospital.
