An administrative employee at the Bank of Maldives (BML), has tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) on Wednesday.

The bank revealed that the employee who tested positive, worked at their branch in the Sea Tracks Building.

Following the discovery, BML launched a disinfection and deep-cleaning programme in the public spaces of the building, and are currently working with the Health Protection Agency (HPA) to conduct contact tracing.

Highlighting that they highly prioritize the safety and security of customers and staff alike, BML revealed that they will be acting upon the orders and recommendations from the HPA and will observe the ever-changing situation closely.

The bank further revealed that they have been operating their services after implementing the required precautionary measures and in accordance with the business continuity plan, which divides employees into separate teams to carry out operations effectively.

BML went onto assure the public that their services will be provided as before.
