Covid-19: 10 new cases, seven recoveries reported on Friday

The new cases include Maldivians, Bangladeshis, Indians and one Indonesian

Maldives confirmed 10 new cases of the global Covid-19 pandemic, along with seven recoveries on Friday.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that the new cases include four Maldivians, two Bangladeshi nationals, three Indian nationals and one Indonesia national.

With this, the country’s total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reached 2,410.

Further, the authority’s dashboard reveals that all seven recoveries reported on Friday were Maldivians, mostly women. The recoveries reported on Friday also include an 11-year-old girl.

Additionally, women aged 65, 53 and 31 respectively, recovered from the virus along with a 47-year-old man.

Thus far, Maldives has observed 1,976 recoveries from the virus, which has taken 10 lives since it surfaced in the Maldives on March 7.

The country’s recovery rate is currently at 82 percent with a mortality rate of 0.41 percent.

Authorities are currently treating 419 active cases, with 115 in quarantine facilities and 259 in isolation.
