Third Maldivian tests positive to Covid-19 after returning from UK
 
All three returned from the UK
 
This first confirmed Maldivian patient was announced on Friday, while the second was announced on Sunday
 
HPA said that the individual had been quarantined at Royal Island Resort after return from UK

A third Maldivian has tested positive to coronavirus after returning from the United Kingdom.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday morning, said that a sample taken from a Maldivian who returned from UK has tested positive for Covid-19.

It added that the individual had been quarantined at Royal Island Resort upon return from UK, as per the government’s decision to quarantine all incoming passengers.

Another Maldivian quarantined at the same resort tested positive on Sunday, while the first confirmed Maldivian patient was announced on Friday; he was quarantined at Holiday Island Resort.

All three had returned from the United Kingdom.

With the new case, the Maldives has confirmed a total of 18 positive cases. 13 have since recovered, while results of two Italians came back positive after their departure from Maldives.

Following this, authorities revealed the decision to test all quarantined individuals before release.
