Second Maldivian tests positive for Covid-19

An additional Maldivian has tested positive for Covid-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) - via Twitter on Sunday - announced that a Maldivian national who returned from the United Kingdom has tested positive for Covid-19.

The individual was quarantined at Royal Island Resort Quarantine facility as per protocol.

This is the second Maldivian to test positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives. The first was also a Maldivian who returned from the UK. He is currently isolated at Velidhoo Island Resort Isolation Facility.

The Maldives has recorded a total of 17 confirmed Covid-19 cases, thus far. This includes two Maldivians and 15 foreign nationals. 11 out of the 17 have recovered.

So far, there are a total of 826 people under quarantine with 20 people under isolation.
