Local supermarket chain "RedWave" has denied allegations on social media claiming that prices for hand sanitizes have been raised amid fears for a novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

Redwave's manager, Ali Waheed asserted that the allegations of hand sanitize prices being raised from MVR 50 to MVR 120 are "completely false" and assured customers that the supermarket chain will not increase prices of any goods during such circumstances.

Redwave has also begun distributing free masks to customers. As such, all 20,000 face masks in stock will be distributed per person from all Red Wave outlets.
