Aeroflot-Russian Airlines has begun special operations to Maldives via Boeing 777 flights.

The operations began on Saturday, as part of the campaign to increase the country’s tourist arrivals.

Maldives’ travel agent for the airline, Maldiviana Airline Service Private Limited, revealed that they will be operating the Boeing 777 flights between Russia’s capital, Moscow and Maldives every day until March.

Ismail Ibrahim, an official from Maldiviana’s Flight Operations revealed that flights operations began on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on Saturday. The aircraft has the capacity to accommodate 402 passengers

Highlighting that Russian Airlines already operates flights between Maldives and Europe, Ibrahim stated that they are beginning operations of the bigger aircraft, targeting to increase arrivals from the European travel market.

Flights from the Russian Airlines have been operating in the Maldives for 10 years now.
