Noora appointed as new Inspector of Correctional Service
 
Noora has a MA in International Development Studies from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in addition to a BSc in Psychology and Communications from Upper Iowa University, USA
 
The vacancy for the position opened up following the promotion of the previous Inspector of Correctional Service, Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu, to Commissioner of Prisons.
 
The appointment was awarded under the authority provided to the Minister of Home Affairs as stated in article one of the Prisons and Parole Act

Aishath Noora Mohamed has been appointed as the new Inspector of Correctional Service.

The appointment was awarded under the authority provided to the Minister of Home Affairs as stated in article one of the Prisons and Parole Act (Law no:14/2013). The vacancy for the position opened up following the promotion of the previous Inspector of Correctional Service, Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu, to Commissioner of Prisons.

The Inspector of Correctional Service is responsible for monitoring and reporting the situation of prisons in the country to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Noora has a Master of Arts in International Development Studies from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in addition to a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Communications from the Upper Iowa University in the United States of America.

She last served as the secretary-general of Maldives Red Crescent and also worked a Director for the Society of Health Education (SHE) as well as a project coordinator and manager at UNDP.
