All Travel Agencies operating in the Maldives are required to hand in their annual reports for 2019 by the end of January 2020, announces the Ministry of Tourism.

The ministry made the announcement via a statement which reads that the deadline for submissions is set at 2pm, 31 January, a Friday.

The announcement further reads that agencies that do not follow through to submit their annual reports by the deadline will have their permits revoked.

While failure to submit reports will lead to the termination of permits as stated under the guidelines set for Travel Agencies, the permission to run the agency law also mandates agencies to submit an annual report in order to continue operations.

Ministry statistics reveal that there are 384 Travel Agencies currently registered and operational in the country.

Travel Agencies are a proven crucial source of revenue for Maldives which is promoted through global fairs.
