HPA has yet to confirm whether the fourth case was discovered in an adult or child.

Another case of measles has been found within the eight people tested for the infection on Saturday, reveals the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

This is the fourth confirmed case since the outbreak began early this year. So far, two children and one adult have contracted the infection, reveals authorities. HPA has yet to confirm whether the fourth case was discovered in an adult or child.

The government launched a vaccination drive following the re-emergence of measles in the country this January; the World Health Organization (WHO) publicly declared the elimination of measles from the Maldives during June 2017.

The first victim of the outbreak was a three-year-old toddler who had not the necessary vaccine dosages at nine and 18 months.

As such, Dhamanveshi has begun rolling out vaccinations to children under 18 years of age and administering vaccines to any seeking the vaccine.
