The Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, Keiko Yanai, has paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Thursday.

The ambassador was welcomed by the President on Thursday morning at the President’s Office.

President Solih relayed his appreciation to the Japanese Government for the warm hospitality extended to him and the First Lady during their recent visit to Japan to attend the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito to the Chrysanthemum throne.

During the meeting, discussions between the President and the Ambassador touched on avenues of future collaboration, especially in regard to Human Resources Development, renewable energy technologies, and commerce.

The visit concluded with President Solih and Ambassador Keiko indicating conviction in their endeavors to boost ties and cooperation between the two island nations.
