"Exercise Ekuverin 2019", a training program organized by the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) in partnership with the Indian military, has successfully come to a conclusion.

The training program which took place from the 7th-20th of October in Pune, India was conducted with the objective of preparing for joint Counter Insurgency operations against terrorism and strengthening India-Maldives relations.

MNDF Marine Corps' Commandant Brigadier General Waais Waheed attended the closing ceremony as a special guest and observed the training procedure.

The training sessions were conducted by experienced professionals from both countries.

The annual training exercise has been ongoing since 2009 and was held in MNDF Northern Area Headquarters at Lh. Maafilaafushi last year.
