Mohamed Muiz Adnan and Ahmed Tholal have resigned from the presidential committee tasked with investigating issues in government housing.

Muiz confirmed his resignation in a Facebook post on Monday.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Tholal said that he resigned from the flat committee because he could not give adequate time to the committee work while also working at Transparency Maldives. He said he wanted to allow the committee work to move faster with a member who can commit full time.

After the resignations, attorney Thoha Mohamed has been appointed to the committee. Currently, the committee consists of Thoha, Shireen Nahid Latheef, Fathimath Rasheed, and Ali Shuhail Mohamed.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih formed the flat committee in December of last year to investigate the housing schemes initiated by the previous administration.
