President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has observed the ongoing National Quran Competition on Wednesday.

During the visit to the Islamic Center where the 33rd National Quran Competition is being held, President Solih had inquired the organizers of the event on the work being carried out and encouraged them to carry out a successful event.

Also, President Solih observed recitals of some children and offered them words of encouragement.

Students from different schools and colleges, as well as some individuals from the general public and scholars also participated in the competition this year.

This year’s competition saw the greatest number of participants so far, recorded at 1,273 and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs had stated that they received support from the government for the overall planning of the competition.

President Solih was accompanied by Vice President Faisal Naseem during the visit.
